Decor for Fun: Bedroom for Your Young Adult

Teenage being the most significant stage of growing up, you need to pamper the rebellious spirit in your teen even when it comes to his/ her bedroom decor. Since this is the period of life when they need more space and privacy, as parents, you need to woo them, ensuring that they are comfortable.

Some standard ideas you could incorporate would be to throw rugs and some large pillows and cushions. You could also funk up the walls with retro lampshades, wall hangings, bulletin boards to collage in their favorite photos, some posters of their favorite heroes and masks. Screens and curtains could also add both privacy and the finer touch.

Over sized couches, round-bottomed wicker chairs, a closet with enough private space, trunks to dump in laundry clothes and other accessories are equally imperative. A computer table along with a study table adds the pleasure.

Siblings sharing rooms often prefer canopied beds to retain privacy. Since most teens stay up late nights talking over phone or listening to music, you could dump in more rugs and cushions to absorb the sound. It is even better if you could use soundproofing for the room. A larger bed is preferred in case friends should drop in for the night. Of course, decor for a girl’s room would differ from your young boys.

A girl would prefer softer shades of color, characters from the fairyland on the walls or windows, a large full-sized mirror, enough space in the dressing table for cosmetics. On the contrary, your boy would rather prefer favorite characters be they from the world of rock music, or sports or may be the Spiderman. Most boys also fancy cars, bikes, and such posters could add on to the personality of their personal nook.

The catch line is to; however, get your teen involved in decorating the room- after all that is what they expect of caring parents!
