Creating a Dining Oasis
Living in a house full of family and frantic activity can leave you searching for a spiritual hideaway. Every room in the house seems to be used for some thing. The kitchen is a traffic zone with a path to the fridge being a major highway; dens and living rooms are full of loud media and video games. Bedrooms collect clothes, books, and late night conversations and when little ones are knocking on the door, even the bathroom is a hard place to meditate. However, the dining room, which is used for sitting and eating, is available. Use some decorating tips to turn this overlooked space into a place of peace.
Turning your dining room into a spiritual oasis is as easy as color choices and accessories. If your dining room set is dark and wooden, lighten the room with some cream widow treatments or a pastel tablecloth. Make sure the table is in the center of the room so there is plenty of space around it. Place fresh flowers on a sideboard or allow a vining potted plant to rest on top of your hutch and let the tendrils of green life dangle down. The more light and natural the environment the better it is for a moment of quiet.
Find some art that represents the spiritual side of you. It might be images of saints or icons painted in a folk art style, or it might be pictures of nature including riverbeds or flower blossoms. Candles bring a spiritual energy all their own into the room and a spring breeze air freshener or open window (if you live in the country) can make sure the air is crisp and light.Â
Turning your dining room into a peaceful station amidst the chaos of daily life housed in the other rooms of your home will give you at least one place to sit, think and be quiet.

I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100% regarding Creating a Dining Oasis, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong :)
